What is Absolute® Home & Office?

Absolute® Home & Office protects your computer, tablet or smarthphone from theft. It will make it possible for you to locate and recover your device in case it is stolen with help of Absolute Investigators, who will work together with the police to recover your device. Also it enables you to lock or delete sensitive personal data remotely.

How do I confirm that my Absolute® Home & Office installation was successful?

Following a successful installation, you will be automatically logged into your Customer account. Once you have completed the first-time account configuration, you will see the main device page of your registered device.

If Absolute® Home & Office settings are correct, you will see the following:

1. The Device Status will read ‘Calling’.
2. The License Status will read ‘Active’.
3. The date of the last call (shown next to the Device Status) will be within the next 24 hours.

How do I add a device to my account?

To add a new device to your account, please take the following steps:

1. Visit our login page and enter your registered email address.

- If you do not remember the password on this account, click on the ‘Forgot Password’ link to have a new temporary password emailed to you.
- If you used a temporary password to log in, update to a permanent password.

2. Click on the ‘Add Device’ button.

3. Enter your new registration code when prompted.

4. Select the PC or Mac Download option.

5. When the service agreement comes up, scroll to the very bottom and click on ‘I Agree’.

6. Run the AbsoluteSetup file once the download has completed.

7. The installer will walk you through the steps of installation.

8. You will then be automatically logged into your account again, where you may confirm that the installation was successful. Please be advised that it may take up to 30 minutes for your device to sync with our Monitoring Center.

How do I transfer my license to a new or replacement device?

To transfer a license to a new device, please take the following steps from that device. Please note that you are not required to have the original device to perform a license transfer.

1. Visit our login page and enter your registered email address.

- If you do not remember the password on this account, click on the ‘Forgot Password’ link to have a new temporary password emailed to you.
- If you used a temporary password to log in, update to a permanent password.

2. If you have multiple devices, select the correct one from the list.

3. Click on the ‘More’ button.

4. Click on ‘Uninstall’ and ‘Yes’ to confirm.

5. Click on ‘Install’.

6. Select the PC or Mac download option.

7. Scroll to the bottom of the Service Agreement and click on ‘I Agree’.

8. Run the AbsoluteSetup file once the download has completed.

9. The installer will walk you through the installation steps.

10. You will then be taken to your main device page, where you may confirm that the installation was successful. Please be advised that it may take up to 30 minutes for your device to sync with our Monitoring Center.

How do I uninstall Absolute® Home & Office?

To uninstall Absolute Home & Office from your device, please take the following steps:

1. Visit our login page and enter your registered email address.
- If you do not remember the password on this account, click on the ‘Forgot Password’ link to have a new temporary password emailed to you.
- If you used a temporary password to log in, update to a permanent password.

2. If you have multiple devices, select the correct one from the list.

3. Click on the ‘More’ button.

4. Click on ‘Uninstall’ and ‘Yes’ to confirm.

5. This will set the remote software removal flag, which will be deployed the next time the agent contacts our Monitoring Center. The removal will typically occur within 24 hours.

When does my license term begin and expire?

Licenses begin on the date of installation and finish after the following year, two years, three years or four years, depending on the duration of your license.

How does Absolute® Home & Office work?

Absolute Home & Office tracks the computer via its internet connection. When the lost or stolen computer connects to the internet Absolute Home & Office begins to collect evidence which can help lead the police to the location of your computer. How do I report the theft to Absolute® if my device gets stolen?

If you are a Absolute Home & Office customer with an active license installed and your laptop, smartphone or tablet has been lost or stolen, you must complete the following steps:

1. Report the theft to local law enforcement as soon as possible.

2. Report the theft to Absolute by logging into your account, clicking on the ‘Recover’ tab, and completing the required fields.

3. If you are unable to log into your account, you can also check report the theft to us by phone instead.

How do I install Absolute® Home & Office?
